What is a Care Assistant (CA)
Care Assistants are important healthcare providers who support our residents with daily activities. Duties include routine cared such as assessing temperatures, pulse, respiration, activities of daily living, and helping with laundry and in the dining room. Supervised by a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse, Care Assistants are commonly referred to as the "eyes and ears" of the nurse because they spend an abundance of time observing and interacting with patients. Being a CA is for those who have a calling for helping and caring for people. In addition, a CA has an excellent work ethic as they play a crucial role in delivering personal care and assisting with daily living activities to residents.
